originally trained in the gaming industry in 1975 in London and
worked in some of the city's most exclusive casinos - Crockfords,
The Curzon House, The Palm Beach and Cromwell Mint Casino.
In 1979 I joined South Africa's leading Hotel/Casino group,Sun International,
and moved to South Africa for the opening of their Sun City project.
Sun
City, today one of the worlds leading resort destinations, was a
wonderful experience. Aswel as working at management level directly
with the casino, I was also involved in coordinating numerous celebrity
sporting events.
After 6 years with Sun International I returned to the UK to run
my own retail business.
In
1987 Sun International asked me if I would be interested in returning
to South Africa for the opening of a new project near Pretoria.
Being a lover of warm climates I jumped at the offer and headed
up the casino management team at the Morula Sun Hotel & Casino.
In 1991 I accepted an offer to open & manage a Casino project
in Warsaw for the Orbis/Cherry group.
The
warmer climates called me again and I returned to South Africa in
1992.
After another spell with Sun International, during which time I
was involved in central casino audit, an opportunity arose for me
to work in the Caribbean where I worked as general manager of the
Emeral Valley Resort in St Vincent.
I once again returned to South Africa and spent another period working
with Sun International as senior training manager.
In
1996 I accepted an offer from Global Resorts to join them for the
opening of a Hotel Casino project in Botswana.
I
worked with Global Resorts as Casino Gaming Manager until 2000 when
I opened my own gaming consultancy business.
During the next 2 years I had a lot of contact with Sunny Group
and their Casino in Botswana ... and in late 2002 Sunny Group offered
me the opportunity to work in Trinidad.
